A Glimpse into the pop art style which Chantelle paints with....
Below are some of my absolute favorite pop arts that I've had the pleasure of painting. This style is the most time consuming, back-breaking type of painting I've ever tried ....and unfortunately i fell in love with it. My goal is to make each one look more realistic, i learn from every painting and take that knowledge onto the next. When you look closely at my pop arts you can see the tiny details that make it very different then a photo or any other style of painting, but when viewed from afar they take on the characteristics of a photograph. They can only be really truly appreciated in person, if you have a second please check them out on a desktop computer or a laptop; tiny device screens do not do art any favors.
Largest pop art painting I've had the pleasure of painting yet. It consisted of 4 separate 4ftx4ft canvases which totaled 64 sq ft. The only space i had in my house to lay it down was in my husbands gym once he moved his squat rack! I painted it kind of 'blind' just hoping to God that it would match up in the end!
He has by far the most fun face to paint! So much character, the wrinkles, facial hair and glasses up the level of detail but that's what makes it fun! Ahhh while writing this caption my eyes cant stop looking at that smudge of paint on the wood on the bottom left, dang that's going to bug me forever! haha i just re-read my captions for these photos! It sounds like i suffer from OCD as well as dyslexia! lol i guess being a perfectionist does have it's advantages when painting this way
